Workability International Photo Competition 2017

Workability International members submitted over 35 photos for the 2017 contest !

The judge certainly had a difficult task of picking just 1 winner.

From the Judge:  This photo tells a clear story. I absolutely love that this photo shows the subject working in the moment, as a part of the work force. I love that the other person in the photo is also doing similar work-- it is important to me that people with disabilities in the workforce be treated equally. To me, this photo shows that to a tee.

I have a strong emotional response to this photo. I love the expression in the subject's face, as if the camera has just caught his eye. He looks proud and happy. He looks like he belongs.

Finally, the quality of this photo is the highest, in my opinion. The outdoor setting makes for beautiful lighting, and the composition allows for a wonderful amount of focus on the subject.

From the Featured Employee: “Since starting at (Bedford’s Landscaping business)Adeliade Property Garden’s, I have picked up a range of skills. I’ve learned to drive a manual vehicle, got my truck license and my workzone traffic management license as well. I can plant trees, install irrigation and work with heavy machinery. I come to work 30 minutes early every day because I love my job.” --Michael Todd
